Installation Guide

Follow the guidelines below as a general reference.

1

Before installation, ensure the pump is properly grounded according to safety standards.

2

Install the pump above water level, in a dry, ventilated and rain-protected location.

3

Connect 1" suction piping with check valve (foot valve) on the inlet.

4

Connect 1" discharge piping on the outlet using properly sealed fittings.

5

Install a suitable circuit breaker for the motor current and protect with RCD per electrical code.

Important tips

  • CRITICAL: Do not touch the pump while running — electrical shock risk.
  • Never run the pump dry — operating without water damages the impeller and motor immediately.
  • Mandatory grounding before connecting to power. Use proper ground wire and RCD-protected breaker.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about specification, installation, and use.

A peripheral pump is a surface motor pump that uses a radial impeller with peripheral blades (curved edges) to generate high pressure. It operates above water, suitable for suction depths up to 7-9 meters and lifting water to great distances.

The QB80 has 1 HP (750W) with max flow of 3,300 L/h and head of 45m, ideal for larger homes and pressurization. The QB60 has 1/2 HP (370W) with flow up to 2,100 L/h and 35m head, ideal for apartments and smaller homes. Both available in 127V and 220V.

The check valve (foot valve) on the suction line prevents water from flowing back to the reservoir when the pump stops. It keeps the pipe primed and allows proper startup without manual re-priming. Without it, dry running may occur.

The QB80/QB60 line is designed for clean water at ambient temperature (up to 40°C). Not recommended for hot water, corrosive or flammable liquids, or fluids with high solid content. For those applications consult our technical team.

Maximum suction depth is 7 to 9 meters, depending on installation (pipe friction losses, altitude, temperature). For greater depths, use a submersible pump. Always install with a check valve on the suction line and keep piping leak-free.
