Installation Guide

Follow the guidelines below as a general reference.

1

Before installation, make sure the pump is properly grounded according to electrical safety standards.

2

Install the pump above water level, in a dry, ventilated and rain-protected location.

3

Connect the 1" suction piping with a check valve (foot valve) at the inlet.

4

Connect the 1" discharge piping at the outlet, using properly sealed fittings.

5

Install a circuit breaker rated for the motor current and protect the circuit with an RCD, per the electrical code.

Important tips

  • CRITICAL: do not touch the pump while it is running. Risk of electrical shock.
  • Never let the pump run dry. Running without water damages the impeller and motor immediately.
  • Grounding is mandatory before connecting the pump to the power supply. Use a proper ground wire and an RCD-protected breaker.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about specification, installation, and use.

A peripheral pump is a surface motor pump that uses a radial impeller with peripheral blades (curved edges) to generate high pressure with moderate flow. It works above water, ideal for supplying homes, pressurizing water and lifting it over longer distances.

The QB60 has 1/2 HP (370W), with flow up to 1,600 L/h and 17 m head — ideal for apartments and smaller homes. The QB80 has 1 HP (750W), with higher flow and head — suited for larger homes and more demanding pressurization systems. Both are available in 127V and 220V.

The check valve (foot valve), installed on the suction line, prevents water from flowing back to the reservoir when the pump is turned off. This keeps the pipe primed and lets the pump start correctly without manual re-priming. Without it, dry running may occur.

The QB60 is designed for clean water, free of solid particles, at ambient temperature. It is not recommended for hot water, corrosive or flammable liquids, or water with a high solid content. For those applications, consult our technical team for the right product.

The QB60 comes in two versions: 127V and 220V. Check your mains voltage before purchase and installation and choose the matching version. Always install with proper grounding and an RCD-protected breaker, per the electrical code.
